Welcome to The Ruddings, a historic Victorian building that has stood proudly since its construction in 1903. What once served as lodgings for visitors to the picturesque village of Braithwaite has now been transformed into a boutique hotel with 21 rooms, offering a unique blend of timeless charm and modern luxury.
Formerly known as “The Middle Ruddings” the unusual name derives from the names for the fields that the hotel was built on. In the 19th century, there were three “Ruddings” fields. The hotel was built on what was the middle field, making it “The Middle Ruddings”.
You can expect to wake up refreshed and indulge in a delightful breakfast to kickstart your day of exploration.
Nestled amidst the stunning landscapes of the Lake District, The Ruddings is ideally situated near the magnificent Grisedale Pike and the spectacular hanging valley: Coledale Horseshoe, beckoning adventurers and nature enthusiasts alike.
